On July 2, Simon Starling will leave the Swiss Alpine Museum in Berne on his cargo bike for the Hotel Castell in Zuoz, where his bike will be transformed into an exhibition setup.
It will feature a set of platinum-palladium prints of the Morteratsch Glacier. The prints are made from glass plates originally produced by Jules Beck, a Bern-based pioneer of mountain photography.
Simon Starling (b. 1967) studied at Maidstone College of Art, Trent Polytechnic Nottingham and Glasgow School of Art. Considered one of the most audacious British artists on the international scene, he won the Turner Prize in 2005. Starling also served as professor of fine arts at the Städelschule in Frankfurt.
