Événement, performance
Bridging the division between glaciers and humanity, we aim to look at them as an integral part of our life. We will meditate on our reciprocity, what connects us and what we have in common. Can we grasp their longevity beyond the duration of a human existence? Finally, taking the voice of glaciers into account, we will ponder the question of environmental personhood and how sound can provide arguments for their legal protection.
Art For Glaciers and WE ARE AIA invite you to the Swiss premiere of the yet unreleased film The Crying Glacier (presented at film festivals in Banff, Leeds, Bilbao). It will be followed by a discussion with artists Eline Kersten, Ludwig Berger and scientist Michaela Muehl, who have committed their study to glaciers. What can their work truly achieve and what are their hopes?
