La Couleur des Jours is an independent quarterly that “takes an interest in the world as it is, here, there and elsewhere, without borders”, seeking to recount its “captured moments, joys and angers”. The editors invited contributions on the theme of glaciers from three writers, each from a different part of Switzerland: Doris Femminis (b. 1972 in Ticino, lives in the Vallée de Joux and writes in Italian), Daniel de Roulet (b. 1944 in Geneva, where he lives and writes in French), and Usama Al Shahmani (b. 1971 in Baghdad, Iraqi-Swiss, lives in Frauenfeld and writes in German).
La Couleur des Jours also commissioned a series of texts inspired by glaciers – in French, German, Swiss German, Italian – from the writers’ collective Bern ist überall. A large number of these writings are published in the magazine and in a special edition. A selection of three to five authors gives readings of their contributions, accompanied by one or two musicians Geneva, Sion and Bern.
